Fiona Vismans, D.D.S.

Dr. Fiona Vismans is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.  She continued on to complete a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in Baltimore, where she received advanced training in treating medically compromised patients with complex health histories, prosthodontics, and implant dentistry.  Dr. Vismans has also ventured onto dental mission trips to Vietnam with Operation Smile and to the Dominican Republic with the Catholic Medical Missions.  These trips are highly rewarding for Dr. Vismans and make her a more compassionate dentist.

Dr. Vismans grew up trilingual and is fluent in Dutch, German and English. She attended the University of Maryland College Park for her undergraduate studies, where she received a Bachelors of Arts in German Language and Literature as well as a Bachelors of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology. The balance between science and art is what originally drew Dr Vismans to dentistry and is why she likes to specialize in esthetic dentistry and smile design.

Remaining current with the most up to date research, modern techniques and materials is vital to providing the best services for our community and therefore Dr. Vismans heavily invests in her continuing education and is pursuing additional training from the prestigious Dawson Academy, among others.

Dr. Vismans lives in Baltimore City with her husband, two daughters, their cat Pepper, and abundance of houseplants. 

Alicia, RDH

Alicia has been practicing dental hygiene since 2009. A graduate of Grand Rapids Community College, Alicia is Michigan native who relocated to Maryland in 2010. Her passion for teeth extends beyond the office and she spends countless hours observing the latest techniques, studying concepts and applications in dentistry, and maintains endorsements to administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation to maintain patient comfort. Alicia is known by her patients for her gentle yet thorough approach to dental cleanings, making patient visits fun and anxiety-free!

When not at work, Alicia can be found just up the road in Mount Washington, where she lives with her wife, Karen, and their dog and 4 cats. She spends a lot of her free time crocheting stuffed animals to sell at local craft markets. She also enjoys traveling, tattoos, karaoke, and attending concerts!

Christina, CDA

Christina is a dedicated and compassionate dental assistant with over 20 years of experience in the field. She graduated from Medix School in Towson in 2005, and has been committed to providing exceptional patient care ever since. Since joining Dr. Vismans’ practice in January 2019, Christina has worked closely with her as her primary assistant, appreciating her dedication to individualized patient care—an environment where Christina’s empathy and professionalism truly shine.

Christina resides in Chase, Maryland, with her son, Kolby, her boyfriend, Jake, and their beloved dog, Zoey. Outside of work, she cherishes time spent with family and friends, often cheering on Kolby at his soccer games or catching an Orioles game together.

Gwen, Insurance Coordinator

Gwen has been in the dental field for more than 40 years. She has been a lifetime member of The American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM) since 2008, and is a Certified Dental Insurance/Benefit Coordinator through AADOM since 2019.

Her belief that “Patients are not an interruption of my day; they are the reason for it” makes her a great choice for our patient centered practice. She is always happy to help you with any questions about your dental benefits.

When not in the office she enjoys spending time with her husband, adult children, family and friends. Her favorite way to unwind is by spending time in nature.  Having a creative outlet is essential to her, scrapbooking and making handmade cards are her favorites because of the joy you can bring to someone’s day with something handmade.

Tricia, Patient Care Coordinator

Tricia was born and raised in Baltimore. She and her husband, Chris, have been married over 35 years. They have three young adult children. Tricia’s favorite part of working at JFD is getting to know the patients in the waiting room.  She’s enthusiastic about her faith and spends her spare time serving her church community.
